As we are witnessing a genocide unfold in real time, we call for an end to the Israeli government’s illegal occupation of Palestine and stand in solidarity with the freedom, safety, dignity, and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
We mourn the deaths of all people, including the Palestinian and Israeli civilians who have died in attacks conducted by Hamas and Israeli forces in this atrocity.
We also acknowledge and criticise Japan’s complicity in supporting Israel’s military as well as its arms industry.
We urge art institutions, artists, and cultural workers in Japan to speak out against this humanitarian crisis that pertains to us all.
